I had the best experience at the Park Slope Oral office. The staff and the dentist are wonderful. I went there nervous and in pain for a tooth extraction, the dentist and his assistant claimed me down and did the extraction. I left the office feeling so much better.

My wisdom teeth were impacted, I was nervous and put it off too long, and most other surgeries were either exorbitantly priced or couldn’t see me for months. Park Slope Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery saw me inside of a week, the surgeon and nurses were very kind and put me at ease, and I was able to afford it even uninsured. The procedure was so smooth and quicker than I thought. I’m glad I went here!

Front desk staff was friendly, courteous, extremely helpful with procuring referrals etc. The dental assistant was also very kind and friendly. Dr. Chionchio was attentive to detail, explained everything and included the patient (my ten year old) in the discussion about treatment and scheduling. Very pleasant group and all the other patients seemed satisfied.

My experience was exceptionally good. All my preconceptions about oral surgery involving pain and suffering were blown away. Day 15 after the wisdom teeth removal with Dr. Sengupta, the numbness of my bottom lip and chin is still present, and I wasn’t provided with any reasons as to why this occurred. Although the staff is warm and the extraction was fast and pain-free, I am still disappointed and upset about the possible nerve injury that has occurred. What disappointed me the most is that I wasn’t informed of this risk prior to the surgery. Also, this place offers the service of having your consultation and extraction scheduled on the same day. I DO NOT recommend scheduling both your consultation and wisdom teeth extraction on the same day, as your consultation could be rushed, and you may not have enough time to make informed decisions. If I had separated my consultation and surgery and had been informed of the risk of nerve injury, I might have decided against having my bottom tooth removed. Edit: After leaving the previous message, I called to the office a few days ago and requested the staff to ask Dr. Sengupta to return my call but still haven’t received a reply. I DO NOT recommend this place and Dr. Sengupta at all!

Dr. Chionchio is a wonderful doctor. The billing and insurance staff are not. I had a consultation on July 20th which my insurance paid for. Yet they charged my credit card. I requested a refund multiple times and 8 months later I’m still waiting. My insurance also requested additional information for another procedure. This office never bothered to submit the necessary information to my insurance and as a result I was charged another $495 out of pocket. They don’t care. Come here only if you want to pay out of pocket. They will tell you they accept insurance but they really do not want to deal with it.
